Austin – UT: Univeristy Co-op – Roger Clemens #21

Roger Clemens compiled a 25-7 record in two All-American seasons for the University of Texas Longhorns in 1982 and 1983. The Houston-native threw a then team record 35 consecutive scoreless innings during the 1982 postseason. He then tossed a complete game in Texas’ 4-3 victory over Alabama in the 1983 national title game, giving the program its fourth national championship. Clemens went on to a successful major league career with the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Houston Astros, making ten All Star teams, and winning 7 Cy Young Awards and an American League MVP. In 1993, his number 21 was retired by the University of Texas, making him the first baseball player to be receive that honor. He was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1994 and the Texas Sports & Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.
